Patient Oriented Health Research: How the Patient Perspective Makes a Difference
Health research in Canada is undergoing significant changes. Researchers, health care professionals, policy-makers and patients are working together to ensure a more patient-oriented approach. This means that the patient perspective is integrated into every step of the research process including developing research questions, defining research objectives, collecting data, and evaluating results. Ultimately this approach leads to improved experience of care and better health outcomes.
